Do You Really Need Waterproof Labels?
Before choosing a waterproof label, consider whether your application truly requires full waterproof performance. Many applications don’t require fully waterproof labels. If your labels only need to withstand occasional moisture or water exposure, you’ll have more flexibility when choosing papers, films, and finishing options.
The right choice depends on how and where your labels will be used. Our team can help you select the most suitable material for your application.
Can Paper Labels Be Made Waterproof?
Applying lamination to paper labels increases their resistance to moisture and everyday handling. However, if complete waterproof performance is required, films are generally the better choice.
Lamination also changes the look and feel of paper, reducing its natural texture. For this reason, labels expected to be exposed to water or prolonged moisture are typically produced on films rather than laminated paper.

Are Water-Resistant Paper Labels Available?
Paper labels can be suitable for applications with limited exposure to moisture. Before selecting a material, consider the conditions your labels will face and whether paper is the right choice for your application. A protective UV varnish can improve resistance to occasional moisture and everyday handling while also protecting the printed surface. However, for applications involving frequent or prolonged exposure to water, films are generally the recommended option.
