Why Choose Varnish?

  • Cost-effective protection applied during printing
  • Compatible with a wide range of materials
  • Helps protect against scuffs, scratches, and color abrasion

How Does Protective Varnish Work?

  1. Applied After Printing
Once your labels have been printed, a clear protective varnish is applied across the entire surface to help protect the printed design from everyday wear.
  2. Instant UV curing
The varnish is immediately cured under UV light, creating a durable protective layer that bonds to the printed surface.
  3. Long-Lasting Protection
The cured coating helps prevent color rub-off, minor scratches, and everyday handling marks while maintaining the flexibility and appearance of the label.

Choose Your Finish

  • Matte varnish – Ideal for matte or textured papers, preserving a natural, low-glare appearance.
  • Gloss varnish – Ideal for glossy papers and polypropylene films, enhancing color depth and shine.

Protective Varnish or Film Lamination—Which Is Right for Your Labels?

Protective varnish is a thin, clear coating that helps protect your labels from everyday scuffs, scratches, and color abrasion. It can be applied to virtually any label material and is compatible with finishing options such as blind embossing, relief embossing, and hot foil stamping. It also remains suitable for thermal transfer printing after application.

For applications that require a higher level of protection, we also offer film lamination. This process bonds a matte or gloss film to the label using adhesive and pressure, creating a durable protective layer that helps resist moisture, chemicals, and heavy wear. Film lamination is ideal for labels exposed to demanding environments, but it is not compatible with blind or relief embossing.
