Does Your Brand Truly Need Waterproof Labels?
Before diving in, consider this question: Do your labels genuinely need to be waterproof?
In many cases, water resistance is all that’s required. If that’s true for you, a wider range of materials and finishes becomes available.
Can Paper Labels Become Waterproof with Film Lamination?
While adding film lamination to paper labels can make them waterproof, it largely defeats the purpose of choosing paper in the first place. The natural, premium texture of the paper is lost, making it feel more like a polypropylene film label.
There’s also a chance that air may become trapped between layers, creating unattractive bubbles.
Are Waterproof or Water-Resistant Paper Labels Available?
We understand that your paper labels may need to withstand the demands of a commercial environment. But again—do they need to be fully waterproof, or simply water resistant?
If water resistance is sufficient, our standard UV protective varnish provides strong performance. In addition to shielding the label from UV exposure, the varnish seals the paper by saturating the fibers, reducing their ability to absorb water.
Important Note
Before placing an order, always test labels in the conditions where they will be used. We’re happy to provide a complimentary sample book so you can evaluate the materials and choose the finish that best suits your brand.
