What is Film lamination?
Film lamination is when your printed labels, either paper or polypropylene is covered with a thin plastic film that both protects the print and refines its appearance. At Labelmakers.com we use wet lamination: the film is not self-adhesive but is bonded with a liquid glue, then fixed permanently under controlled pressure and UV light. Match the finish to the stock—choose a glossy film for glossy materials and a matte film for matte ones—for a seamless, premium look.
Labels with protective varnish or better with lamination?
Your labels merit superior protection! Depending on the resistance required, you can choose a protective varnish or opt for film lamination. While the varnish shields against everyday scuffs and colour rub-off, our matte or glossy laminate delivers stronger, long-lasting defence and a premium look. This treatment not only enhances the ruggedness of each label but also significantly extends its service life. Lamination starts with a thin coat of adhesive applied to the printed sheets; under calibrated pressure and UV light, the plastic film bonds tightly and permanently to the surface. We particularly recommend this finishing solution for cosmetics, household chemicals and similarly demanding applications.
